SKARLIE DGF2 Golf Watch Review

At under 50 USD, the Skarlie DGF2 golf watch is one of the cheapest golf rangefinders available online. Although not much is known about the manufacturer behind the device, it has a fairly good number of positive reviews and ratings online so getting it is not such a big risk.

The design of the watch is simple but attractive. Its rounded edges make it feel less bulky and chunky than it actually looks. The watch’s wristband is made of TPU, a material that is sturdy and durable.

According to the manufacturer of the DGF2, the watch has a 128 by 128 resolution display. However, when looking at it closely, the watch does not appear as if it has such a high resolution but it is definitely readable.

What is super about the Skarlie DGF2 golf watch is its accuracy. The watch is fitted with a high sensitivity GPS chipset that provides accurate distances between you and key points on the green if you are on any of the over 36,000 preloaded course maps that it automatically recognizes.

Additionally, this watch shows the distances for up to four hazards per hole. With these distances in your mind, you will enjoy your golfing and increase your chances of hitting birdies or even holes-in-ones.

The 36,000 preloaded golf courses are located in over 80 countries around the world.

Furthermore, this watch comes with a digital scorecard that allows players to record their scores and to review them anytime they want. The problem with this, however, is that there is no complementary app to enable you to review or analyze your scores any further. However, this should not take away from the fact that this watch can keep scores, which is a function that even some higher priced rangefinders do not have.

This budget-priced golf watch also comes with two premium features that you would not expect in a watch of its price.

It has a water rating of 50 meters; meaning you can get into the shower or go swimming with it without encountering any error messages. Getting caught up in a heavy downpour down the fairway also won’t damage it. The second premium feature is the fact that this watch comes with an 18-month warranty. This is six months longer than the 12-month warranty on most similar watches and it shows the confidence the manufacturer has in its product.

Our Verdict on the Skarlie DGF2

This watch is not made by a renowned manufacturer so most people may be skeptical about getting it. However, considering its multiple functionalities, its cheap price, and the number of positive reviews and ratings it has gotten, buying the Skarlie DGF2 is not such a risk.

The device provides accurate yardages, has a digital scorecard, has over 36,000 preloaded course maps, is rechargeable, has a long battery life, and a water-resistance level of down to 50 meters. Only one or two more functionalities and it would definitely qualify as a premium device in the eyes of many golfers. Its only major drawback is that it does not come with a supporting app, which is a shame. Otherwise, it is a pretty solid device.
